Original Daily Dozen Exercises Book
This Original Daily Dozen Exercises book is not a complete reproduction of the 1925 classic from Walter Camp, as some elements of the original, while acceptable then, serve no purpose to a modern audience. I’ve also made a couple of layout amendments to make this e-book easier to read and added some notes like this one to each chapter. Other than that, all credit for this book goes to Walter Camp, visionary and, I’m sure you’ll agree after reading, inspirational guy.
Sample from Orignal Daily Dozen Exercises:
“The Daily Dozen sprang into being as the result of work I was asked to do in the Naval Training Stations, and at Washington, during the war. I had previously worked it out in rudimentary form for my own use, knowing from experience that old-fashioned “calisthenics” were no good to me. The Daily Dozen has made its own way. It has been carried chiefly by word of mouth. Its original converts were men of large responsibilities, whose influence and example have made it a household word.
I hope this book will fully remove the public misconception that “Daily Dozen” is any kind of setting up exercise. Many people do curious movements of their own devising – or which they dimly remember from school days – and say proudly that they are doing The Daily Dozen! They are not. The words “daily dozen” apply to only one simple and easily learned system of movements. There is no apparatus; no dumb-bells or wands or chest weights or medicine balls; nothing to buy, and no more space necessary than you have in your bedroom. That the Daily Dozen will do you great good, despite its simplicity and entire lack of expense, seems abundantly proved by the experience of thousands of men and women all over this country and the world.”
