Description
How to Develop a Powerful Abdomen by Chas. T. Trevor.
Developing a powerful abdomen is nowhere near as high on people’s agendas as it should be! Chas. T. Trevor takes us through the reasons why we should all engage in a program of abdominal exercises. Think a seventy-year-old booklet won’t understand modern-day problems? You’d be surprised! Some of the claims Chas makes about the benefits of the exercises might seem a little far-fetched, but overall he’s right on the money with paragraphs such as:
The vast improvement in one’s personal appearance that can result from attention to the abdominal region is no less marked. A big bulging biceps certainly looks fine on the arm of an athlete but much more pleasing to the eye is the trim waist-line of the physical culturist who has cultivated abdominal strength and can display that rugged “washboard” definition of beautifully moulded abdominal muscles.

Internal health is of primary importance to all. The abdomen is the seat of your vitality and virility and if you lack health and strength here, you are only half alive. Faulty digestion and constipation – “the killer” – sap at the very foundations of your vigour and the bulkiest of muscles are just so much extra burden to the person lacking INTERNAL HEALTH. If you would retain your vital powers to well after the half-way mark, you must take heed now of the condition of your stomach muscles.
Safety First
I have added some extra text to the ending of this booklet simply because while I do want you all to get a powerful abdomen, I don’t want you to hurt yourselves. There is still a lot of value in this little booklet; in both the inspirational text and the illustrated exercises. Why not join this guy, and have a go:
If nothing else why not use this little booklet as MOTIVATION, after all:
We all “aspire” to do things, but normally the only way to get them done is to “perspire.” This course of instruction will, I hope, help you to get what you want most from life, for if followed it will develop “back-bone” and not “wish-bone.”
